Company
Transbit was established in 1987. Since its very beginning, the company has focused on specialised production of communications equipment for uniformed services. The main idea behind the foundation of Transbit was to develop communications equipment on the basis of the company’s own, independent technology and to expand by constantly introducing new generations of equipment. This idea remains relevant today.
In the 1990s, Transbit commenced the production of digital communication modules for the construction of military communications networks. One of the first devices developed by Transbit engineers and delivered to the Polish Army was a digital communications system based on telephone exchanges, operator desks and switchboards for signal commutation.
A significant milestone in the company’s history was reached in the early 2000s with the development of the R-450A digital radio relay, which enabled both field and stationary communications. The introduction of the R-450A radio relay marked a revolution in military communications, providing capabilities that were previously unattainable. These radio relays allowed to establish long-distance (inter-node) communication nodes with a bit rate of up to 8 Mbps (with the foreign radio relays used at the time offering 2 Mbps) and a typical range of 40 km.
Over the years, Transbit has specialised in designing and manufacturing communication and ICT equipment and adapting it to the needs of the Polish Army.
The company today
Transbit Sp. z o.o. is a company with 100% Polish capital that offers its own solutions and know-how. It employs over 160 people, most of them engineers and programmers.
As a result of many years of investment in development, Transbit has become a visionary company providing state-of-the-art radio communication equipment and ICT systems for defence and security needs. The company is a partner of the Polish Army in key technical modernisation programmes of the Polish Armed Forces.
The company provides proven, high-capacity broadband communications equipment: horizontal radio relays, broadband radios, radio links for drones. It also offers complete connectivity solutions - Voice over Internet Protocol (field exchanges, telephones), network routers and switches, digital tract switches, cryptographic devices and dedicated ICT systems for managing ICT networks.
The company’s equipment is used to establish the communications infrastructure of network-centric command systems, and to create high-capacity connections. It is used in mobile digital communications centres, infantry fighting vehicles, wheeled armoured personnel carriers, field and mobile command posts, reconnaissance vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles.
The devices developed by Transbit belong to the latest generation of equipment with Software Defined Radio (SDR) modulation methods, which enable customised functionality. They are equipped with advanced algorithms for protection against interference and interception of information and offer a high level of security and reliability. They are developed on the basis of military standards and requirements according to Polish law and NATO standards and are designed for operation in harsh environmental conditions.
Transbit has a proven track record of working with foreign companies awarded contracts in Poland, including Kongsberg and Northrop Grumman. In 2021, the R-460A radio relay was integrated into the US IBCS (Integrated Air and Missile Battle Command System).
Transbit is committed to providing reliable and efficient communications solutions that meet the needs of the Polish Armed Forces.
